Customer Video Review Length:: 4:46 Mins I have owned the SMS Sync by 50 for several months. While I was initially impressed with the overall performance I quickly realized that the (far cheaper) V-Moda P2′s completely outperformed them. With that as my background I was skeptical when I received the SMS Audio 50 Cent Wired Headphones, since they are a much lower price point than the SMS Sync by 50. Oddly, this is a case where the cheaper headphones are far superior than the their more expensive brethren. I am very impressed by the SMS Audio 50 Cent headphones have very good sound volume and performance. They have smooth performance although they are a little bass heavy…. at times they even sound a bit punchy. So while I wouldn’t say that they have a *flat* performance they are smooth everywhere but the lower frequencies. In truth, many people will prefer this to the *flat* performance of a V-Moda LP2. Notes- – I did allow the headphones to break in for about 60hours. I did notice that a pick up in efficiency and sound performance between hour 0 and hour 60. Soooo…. I would recommend breaking them in for a few days before you pass judgement. - Efficiency – they are very efficient…. to the point where using full volume on my iPad is too loud for comfort. - Leakage – a bit surprisingly there seems to be very little sound leakage. - Comfort – comfortable, but not exceptional …. no problems in wearing for several hours at a time. - Noise isolation – Again… good but nothing exceptional - The wire has a built in microphone and iPod contols - Durability – they seem to be very well constructed - Case – the headphones fold up and fit nicely into the case. The case is the smallest of the three that I have tried…. which to me is important since it means that takes up less space in my carry-on Final Verdict – I really like these headphones – and while I still *slightly* prefer the V-Moda LP2′s I would certainly recommend the SMS Audio 50 Cent Wired Headphones for anyone who is looking have solid performance and are a little heavier in the bass. 5 Stars  Gift for my son, By Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) As a music addict, I was looking forward to trying these out. My main impressions (both good and bad): Cons: The headphones are heavy and rigid to wear. Despite the soft cushions on the earcups, I felt that they pressed too hard and I felt like my ears were going to pop. Also, there’s no active noise cancellation. Pros: Excellent sound quality. The headphones are attractively designed and come with a carry case and soft cleaning cloth. Thanks to their design, the headphones are foldable and fit well into the compact carrying case included with them. They also have a built-in microphone(in the event you want to interrupt your music to take a call), and hook up to pretty much anything–ipad, mp3 players, cd players, you name it. (The only requirement is that the audio device have a 3.5 mm stereo jack, but I can’t think of one that doesn’t). |
