Wife was complaining about the sound of my sim and music at bedtime. Tried the old fashioned headphones that plug into sound board but they left me wanting. Hadn’t tried (or heard of to be honest with you) USB headphones before. Came across these on Amazon. Read the reviews and a week later all I can say is wow! Everything is amazing. From Lone Star on Pandora, to an HD movie (Red Baron) on Netflix to Rise of Flight WWI aerial combat sim and Rail Simulator. Everything sounds totally awesome. Couldn’t get the vibration to work at first until I played with the equalizer settings. Now works very well with a bit of bass. My all around favorite settings are: system input: 8ch, DSP mode: on, 7.1 virtual: on, shifter: full positive, analog output: 6 speakers, speaker environment : bass enhancement: general music, environment: living room. environment size: large, equalizer: bass. With my rail sim, the sound (and feel) of a heavy Union Pacific freight rolling by is pretty incredible. Only gripe is the blue LEDs on the control pod are annoyingly too bright. And need to be covered when watching a movie or playing a game in the dark at night. Unlike some other reviewers, I feel that this nice headset may well be trouble free and very enjoyable indefinitely. Set up properly and treated with care there is no popping, hiss or wiring shorts what so ever with this quality headset. In fact it’s dead quiet between sounds and music tracks. Luvin’ it! Does not work with USB 3.0. In a test will only play the first tone then stops and locks up computer. This is either the front ports or the rear. Plug it into USB 2.0 however and it works fine. So don’t buy it, plug it into USB 3.0 and then claim it’s defective. It’s not. Plug it into a USB 2.0 port and you’ll be fine. I don’t know why people give such things to their kids and then claim it’s defective after a only few weeks or days. Duh! NOT A TOY. And certainly not suitable for energetic young gamers that either jerk cords, step on it or trash it and then innocently claim they didn’t break it. The vibration is a nice touch as well, very cool when watching movies (Jurrasic Park is amazing at the T-rex part), anything with explosions and loud noises sounds cool and very good with the 5.1 surround sound. I don’t think I could ever own a non-vibrating headset now If i had to pick out one bad thing (which really isnt that bad) the direction the earcups swivel is the wrong way (i believe anyway) which means its difficult to wear only one earcup while they sit on your head The microphone is detachable, which I believe is very good, because I hear of too many stories when the mic dies but the headphones still work, so if that ever happen, you can just replace the mic! Someone must be crazy making these vibrating headphones and I’m glad they did. The bass coming from this earphones is like making babies with your ears. Yeah it’s sounds and feels that awesome. There is also no way someone can put the volume on this headphone all the way up. They would probably die. When you install the driver you got to tweak it for the right sound of your choice. If you don’t install the driver then it won’t be as clear because the bass is really heavy as default. I use 2ch input and 4speaker output. I customized my equalizer. Have fun buying this headphone. I’m out to go listen to music and play games. |
