- Best price on Ultrasone DJ1 S-Logic Surround Sound Professional Headphones
| 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful You won’t be disappointed, By Altair (USA) – See all my reviews This review is from: Ultrasone DJ1 S-Logic Surround Sound Professional Headphones (Electronics) I was a little skeptical of these headphones when I first looked at them but after reading sparkling reviews of them on a few audio sites I decided to give them a try. They came with a CD that had some sample songs on it, apparently to “test drive” the headphones with. I plugged them in, popped in the CD and took them off almost immediately I was so surprised. It’s a little disconcerting the first time you hear them, you’d swear the artist is performing in the very room you’re in until you take them off. Every set of headphones I’ve listened to, including my friends’ Bose Quietcomfort 2′s and Sennheiser HD280 Pros, still sound like you’re listening to headphones. By that I mean the music is coming from right next to your head and you can tell by the sound of it. With these it’s closer to being in a room with a high quality surround setup, it’s not perfect but it’s amazingly good. The sound quality of these is nothing short of stellar, I listened to most of the Ultrasone sample CD (not really my style of music but it still sounded amazing) then figured that they probably included the CD just to make you go “Wow!” and that they would sound more like everyday headphones with regular music. After going through various MP3′s in my collection and even trying them with Pandora streaming radio they still impress. The highs are perfect, everything is clear and sounds natural without overpowering the rest of the music. Without adjusting any EQ’s on my media player the sound is very accurate and perfectly balanced. The bass is once again very tight and accurate without obstructing the rest of the music. That being said I like a little extra bass sometimes, turn up the bass on your EQ and you won’t be disappointed. I’m not an audiophile and I don’t have a degree in audio engineering but I love music. If I’m near anything that can play back songs I’m listening to music, I’ve never heard it sound better than with these Ultrasone’s 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful HFI-580s but in black n white, By Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Ultrasone DJ1 S-Logic Surround Sound Professional Headphones (Electronics) These have been confirmed from Ultrasone that they are the exact same phones as the HFI-580s. For the asking price these sound awesome for Bass heavy music. Bass is actually great on the cans.. I also own the HFI-780s and compared to them… The highs and the mids are a bit more in your face on the DJ1s while also adding a tad more Bass. This makes em an easy recommendation for hip hop and electronica/ Trance..I find the Bass on the DJ1s to have an authoritative punch and detail with extension even in the sub bass that does Bass heavy music justice..It is a fun can to listen to hip hop. As nothing pisses me off more than Bass that is muddy or congested. These have the right amount of big punch and definition in the over all sound signature that makes you bob your head to the tunes..I find the sound staging ample but a bit smaller than the HFi-780s and the clarity and highs are a tad better on the HFI-780s as well so therefor the price difference reflects the sound qualities accordingly. However..Given the big bass sounds on the DJ1s the smaller sound staging actually helps balance out the cans.. So far I am very impressed with Both and will whole heartedly recommend both cans from Ultrasone…. Both are fantastic!! Trance is better on the HFI780s but the DJ1s are better for Hip hop. But that is just nit picking really as both do justice for both genres. If you listen to more than just Bass heavy music I would recommend the HFI-780 over the HFI-580/DJ1s.. Very well made and the sounds they produce are very kick ass..No need to spend hundreds on big quality sound.. Try these cans.. You will get your monies worth.. Djing or not. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful OUTSTANDING!!!, By Mikey “BrothaMan” (Boogie Down Bronx) – See all my reviews This review is from: Ultrasone DJ1 S-Logic Surround Sound Professional Headphones (Electronics) These by far are the best headphones out there. You will be impressed with the sound, the fit and the price. I’m not a DJ or someone in the music industry, I’m simply a person with an ipod and an ear for quality sound. I got a pair for my birthday last year from my wife. About 10 months later, I made the mistake of leaving them around my 6yrs old son who loves to pull on things. |
